View Full Version : Adding Meta Tags

I am trying to figure out how to add Meta Tags to my Top 100 list.

I have Meta Tags on my website, but they are configured like,
<META NAME="Description" CONTENT= - and,
and these appear to be in a different format than what is required for the Top 100 list Meta Tags.

I went to the Manager Interface and clicked on Meta Tags.

It said "no data".

I then clicked on the "add entry" link there.

There are 2 entry windows there.

The first one is entitled "Tag Name".

The one below that one is entitled "Tag Value".

Now my question is;
What do I enter into those windows?

For instance, if I want to say that the Primary Subject and Focus of my Top 100 list is "Bible Study", then what do I put in;

The first window that is entitled "Tag Name",
and then what do I put in;
The second window that one is entitled "Tag Value"?

Will someone Please Help?

Thank you.

Hi Charles,

I believe there are quite a few threads on this subject on the forum.

<META NAME="Description" CONTENT= "this is a description of my site">

translates to:

Tag Name - Description
Tag Value - this is a description of my site

<META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="keyword1, keyword2, etc">

translates to:

Tag Name - Keywords
Tag Value - keyword1, keyword2, etc

Hope that helps!

Where do I add the <meta tags> info? Do I enter it into my header? I'm confused. From the manager site, if i click the area named "meta Tags", is it a place where i should be adding info on what my site is about, or is it a place to see the meta tags my site currently has?

Your site will only have meta tags if you add them there. You can return there and see what you added in the past, as well as add new meta tags.
