Did you check to see if they are in your member list? If they are, then they are activated.
Once of my new members emailed me to tell me that the activation key they received is invalid. I clicked on the same link and it's true.

Ok, let me know what you find out.
The 'member' wasn't on the list, but she claims she did get an email to activate. As you said, she may have clicked twice without meaning to.
I told her to reappy and now everything is ok. thanks again!!
